I was doing a search for The Mooo Shoppe and came across the page from the high school post. I grew up in Villanova, PA where a Mooo
was on Route 30 (Lincoln Highway) in the middle of town, years before Villanova became the hot school it is today and
the western sprawl of the Philadelphia suburbs began. The Mooo had the tastiest vanilla milkshakes
and sundaes, and their hot dogs and chili dogs were terrific. Our Mooo was not a big hang out place, and there was stiff competition
with a HoJo's across the street. Mike Toland, Glen Ellyn, IL jmichaeltoland@gmail.com

Thanks you so much for creating this website. I have been in contact with
some of my graduating class. People that I have loved and missed dearly. I moved out of state and the only

While I did not go to any Penn Hills schools, (St. Barts and Central Catholic)
ALL my friends can claim Penn Hills as where they grew up... I really appreciate what you have done to keep the OLD PennHills
spirit alive. THEY, whoever they are, may be able to physically take the old Penn Hills from us, but they will never be able
to kill the memories we have of OUR Penn Hills. Thank you for letting me in on that spirit. Sincerely Bobby Muldowney

Thanks, it's been a long life, very little contact with people from High School. I often wonder if anyone remembers me. I recently found out that one of
my best friends from High School died this year. I've been all over the world and done a lot of things, good and bad.
After I graduated I never looked back until I heard of his death. I found this site, great idea. I made it to
one gathering at Veltri's before a reunion. It was by accident, kind of stumbled on it. Poochie '69

most of the time since then. Your site brings back many happy memories. I recently sent you a donation through

it was entirely appropriate since she has heard so many Penn Hills stories. Keep the memories coming. Thanks again.

...you do have a great site! Mary Natlis Waldbaum '76 mrywaldbaum@yahoo.com
I was reading about the history of Penn Hills. You forgot another important
family in the history (actually two). One was the Duffs. They owned alot of the property in Penn Hills off of Frankstown.
Actually all the way down (and maybe further) to the flower shop on Frankstown Road was theirs. They found a gas well
that was right off of Frankstown. They also donated the land for the church right on Frankstown, before you get to the
GetGo. The other family, last name Turner. The house has been given a serious facelift by previous tenants. Susan

Your site is awesome! I check it out at least once a week. This had to be the greatest
town in the world to grow up in. And actually I think we all grew up in the greatest time, those of us baby boomers, that
is. I remember so many of the things that others write about. Reading them makes me feel so warm and nostalgic. Thanks,
Sherry O'Neill '80
Loved the site, brought back a flood of memories.. Gary and Thadine Hilinski '71
Thank you for the memories that your site has generated for me. It prompted Wayne Cole to give me a call
to let me know that he lived less than a mile from my house, here in Vancouver , WA . Nevertheless, it provides those of us thousands
of miles away an opportunity to enjoy a small slice of “home”. Anyone from the class of 71 that remembers me can
drop me a line. After Vietnam , I relocated and
went to school out here in the Northwest. Needless to say, I’ve never left. Those that have an interest in Veteran issues
can Google me with a search “Bill Allman Washington
State Veterans”. I have a wide knowledge of veteran related benefits and issues and wouldn’t mind assisting
any alums that may have a question. Those of us that graduated in the 70’s can always start a conversation, anywhere,
by stating how many graduated in our senior class. The number is usually larger than the entire high schools out this way…and
those are the big 4A schools! Anyway, nice site and thanks for allowing me to get together with Wayne. By the way, anyone hear from Patty Telford? All the Best! Bill. Class of “71”

I like to re-visit this site at least every 6 months. The memorioes it brings
back are all good and they help to keep me feeling young. Bill Connelly '64
I found your web site looking for an old friend in Penn Hills, and I just had
to hoot and holler. I can relate to most of these, even though being an outsider of CAHS '71.
I bought my first burgers too at the McDonalds on Frankstown, and my Mom used to buy day old stuff from a place on Rodi. I live now permanently in Switzerland,
but once lived for 3 years on Duff Road, so Giant Eagle was my hangout, and Hoss's gave me my salad bar when I was too poor.
Cheers and hugs to all my Penn Hills brothers and sisters. And if you were active in swimming
and diving during 70 to 72, then you remember the names George Hawes and Tommy Mielo. I was the boring student coach
sitting on the sidelines. Best, Jim Lowry Churchill
Area High School, Class of 1971
Thanks for the fantastic site. It really brings some great and sad feelings to the
forefront. Tony Cortese '75

had long since forgotten, so thank you. Deborah (Depkon) Lambe
Gad, the song listings makes me feel older
than I am. In checking thru the ones for 1960-1969, there are a whole bunch I remember and in fact still have the 45's (remember
them?) I'm gonna have to dig out that stack of wicked wax to transfer onto some CD's. Thanks for another blast from the past.
Right arm, farm out, dude. Denis Altenburger '70
Thank you for a wonderful trip down memory lane! It took me like, 20 minutes

Thank you so much for your picture page on Kennywood Park! It's great and brings
back a lot of memories. One correction, if I may: The Ghost Ship
darkride (an old favorite of mine) burned down in June of 1975, not in 1969 as stated in your article. The
Ghost Ship was in operation from 1967-1975. Peace! Erosmonkey@aol.com
Thank you the correction; everyone's help is always welcomed and appreciated. Correction
made! Webmaster

just this last July. Now I'm a New Yorker up here with my parents and 'sibs'. It's great to check in and see familiar
names, and hear about old times. Patty Stahovic '68
I just found this site and read "You know you're from Picksburgh when". It's
in the Potpourri section. I have not heard those words since I left Pgh. I was in stitches laughing! Tom Williams '60
I love the web site and think it is a great idea someone had to help us keep
in touch. Hope to hear from some old friends soon! Marilyn (Zorowski) Mack '68
My brother-in-law, Rich Zorowski ('66), just sent me the Penn Hills High School
website. This is a great way to keep in contact with long lost friends and to renew the memories we had in high school.
Thanks to everyone involved in setting this up and keeping it updated. Bob Mack, '66
Thanks for the pictures. They are great! When I go to the website, I always check out the
different sections to see what is new. The website continues to be a great way to stay connected and to be kept informed.
Take care. John "Deadfish" Litz, '70

Just wanted to let you know that every time I go from screen to screen, a log in screen
pops up...I hit cancel to navigate around it, but it seems to be a unwelcome issue! Thanks so much and
keep up the GREAT site, Rona L. Peckich '77 Rona, thank you sooo much
for e-mailing me with this. I noticed it several times myself in the past but, since don't remember one
else mentioning it, I thought it was possibly just happening on my webmaster site. I have e-mailed my provider with
the problem but they never seem to see anything. I will e-mail them again and see if I can get it fixed. It is really annoying,
isn't it??? By the way, thank you so much for the kind words about the site. Sincerely, Webmaster
What a great website. I go there often. Thank you! Deb

Thanks for putting together such a great site. When you graduate with
over a thousand people, you think you'll be in touch with a good many of them all these years later, but we all seem to find
out that's not the case. Had it not been for your site, I'd have lost track of all but a few. I legally changed
my name right after graduation because I got into radio, so most people don't realize who I am until I tell them who I used
to be. I haven't been Darlene Tierno since 1973, so it's very weird to hear people call me that, but at the same time,
it's warm and fuzzy too. Thanks again . .. Great job! Chris DeCarlo (aka
Darlene Tierno)
Thanks
for doing a GREAT job! Jo Anne (Litzinger) McElligott' 67

This website is new for
me I am just so very excited about this new Penn Hills discovery. How wonderful of you to offer it to us! As we
age, those high school years seem to be even more important, don't they? , I will be passing it along to others

Thank you for your initiative, time and expertise
in creating and maintaining this creative, useful and unique website! I read about it in the Progress (2 articles) but it
was also recommended by a fellow PHHS grad/friend. Wish you had been around when we planned our 40th Reunion in 2001. I bought
a computer and joined Classmates.com simply because our reunion committee needed to reach as many classmates as possible after
40 years. It was decided that Friday reunion night after 9/11 that we would not wait 10 years to gather again! So we plan
to have a 45th reunion and your website is the best way to spread the word... I made a page with a 'click on' to send to classmates
and friends who are also PHHS graduates or classmates :-) Hope it helps to spread the word about your website. Thank you for
all your hard work and caring. Since I live just a block or so from the first PH McDonalds, I especially enjoyed that photo.
Brought back lots of memories! Sincerely, Marg Yinger '61

I just finished reading the site for my first time, every page of it. This is one
of the best ideas to come along since they invented sliced bread. Its been so long for a lot of us. Now I realize I'm not
the only person who's wondered from time to time what's become of everyone. Maybe that seems like a simple thought. And the
pictures, its so great to see the smiles and families and the friendships that are still intact. Thanks to everyone for sharing
these. Lee Ball '71

Bob Richmond '68
I think this is a wonderful
idea and will certainly pass on the site to classmates and friends. I
have worked for the Municipality since 1976 and have lived here my whole life. It still is a wonderful place to live and raise
a family. Thanks
for your work and dedication on this website. Diane Fitzhenry '75
We think your website is great! Ralph
Santoliquido '71 and Carla Krupski Santoliquido '73
I am very pleased to have found this web site. William

I would have graduated in 1980 but my family moved away in 6th grade.
ALL my relatives hailed from Pittsburgh. Oh the memories. Seeing the picture of Kennywood's GhostShip was such
a surprise. Our family remembered the ride but with no trace of it online until now. I was so chicken- and my
5 year old little sister would ride in a Ghost Ship car alone. Cool kid.
All those years at Roberts Elementary, now closed. Hiding a garter snake in a shoebox in my desk in Mrs. Young's
2nd grade class (earning me a roundtrip walk home at lunch!). Does anybody remember the summer the Roberts school
burned? Started in a 1st grade classroom- rumor had it somebody threw a cherrybomb in via a window. Mrs. Hagan
(I count 50+ kids in my old 1st grade picture), Mrs. Mechling (then Mrs. Young), Mrs. Baumann, Mrs. Fowkes and the hip Mr.
Smeaton (we got to have chicks hatch in the 5th grade classroom and our class felt very grownup the night we assembled
to walk up the hill to see PHHS perform Camelot ). The endless parade of "Think and Do" workbooks (or in my case,
Think and Look out the Window). Good place to grow up- endless summers of playing
in "the crick", the woods and trips down to the Open Pantry on Universal for 5 or 10 cent candy bars or another package of
"Wacky Packs". Thanks for the memories...Nina Bender Bossert '80
Thank you for creating the Penn Hills
web site. It's enabled me to contact some long lost friends. Marlene Minnich (72')
...thanks so much for the great website. It's been a real treat exploring it.

The site is so much fun that I'm afraid I'm not getting my work done today!
Thanks for all your effort. Jennie Matera '78
Q. I'm getting together
some pictures. I don't have a scanner and was wondering if you could scan them for this website. Love the site.
Dave Maxwell '75
A. Dave, we are glad to help you out.
All you have to do is get them all together and snail mail them to us, we will scan them and add them, and then return them
to you. In fact, although you will have to pay for the postage to send them to us, we will pay for the postage back to you!!!!!
E-mail us at pennhillspa@yahoo.com for our mailing address. Webmaster
I love the website. I often look through "old" pictures, and
I say that tongue in cheek, and wonder whatever happened to these people that I spent so much time with. KUDOS to those who
put this website together! Debbie (Riddinger) Beatty '73
Found out about the site from Bill Villalpando class 79. Not many of us from
80 have logged in yet but we're trying. Have told my sisters about it and I'm sure they will sign on eventually. Most of the
bigger classes logged on now are from their classes... 73, 75 and 78. Anyways, great job with the site. Bob Riddinger
'80
Thanks for a great website to get
re-aquainted with old friends. Val Swearingen '78
Thank you for such a precious web-site. Lori (Botta) Stuart '72
It is almost surreal to get re-connected like this.
One of the guys I work with is a Penn Hills grad ('75) and he e-mailed me information about the site. When I logged on
to review, I was amazed! I couldn't wait to tell my wife and oldest son about the site. Getting connected to this site and
the people behind it is really wonderful. It brings back so many, many fine memories. I too am so glad I found out about this
wonderful site! John Litz '70
Q:I like your site very much and have told
a few friends about it. The pages have expanded since I have been on last too. I really enjoy the photos.
There is just one thing? Is there any way to categorize the years instead of having to go through all the pages? Linda Gaiser/Betti '83
A: Linda, good news! We have set up
the site so that you can pull down the year you are looking for. Most people find it much more user friendly, although a few
liked being able to scan through all the names and years at once. Webmaster
Stumbled across your web-site
from the Penn Hills one you created. Great job. Glad you did it. Barb Haack '71
Q: I
signed in on the 1971 guest book, and for some reason all my info appears twice. ...can you please remove one set of
information. Thank You. Elaine
Felick Robey '71
A: Elaine that is
an easy task to accomplish. If you ever want to make any changes in your information or add anything to it, simply e-mail
us at pennhillspa@yahoo.com and let us know what you want to do, and if it is
possible, we will do it for you. Thanks, Webmaster
I enjoyed getting the email and would
like to be kept on the mailing list. Please pass on my address to others. Doug Gebhard '71
My husband and I filled out ours for the class
of 1946 and 1948. Also his sister and brother-in-law in the class of 1943. I have forwarded the site to as many
friends from Penn Hills as I have email addresses for and when I start the mailings for our 55th reunion I will tell all about
the website. You have done an honorable and great job. Thanks from all graduates. Sarah Versaw '48
Many thanks for the High School site. I would hope many from the (pay for messages,
classmates site) will convert over. Evidently the word is getting around. Joe Wilson '43
IN THE BEGINNING, the whole of what is now called
Penn Hills was known simply as Penn Township. I lived in the Township from 1936 until 1951. Somewhere down the
road it became Penn Hills. When the first High School was built, it was called Penn High. ... to be totally accurate,
the Guestbook Pages for certain years should be labeled "Penn High Graduating Class of 19--". A small detail,
but you've evidently put a lot of work into this project and I'm sure you also are a stickler for "details". Keep up
the good work!
Jack Sable '46
(Penn High)
Q: I signed the guest book on
May 4, 2002, I believe. But when I go into the guest area my information does not appear. Did I do something wrong?
Please let me know if the information is lost and I need to redo my original efforts.
Thanks, Mary Abt '72
A: The first thing to try if
that happens is to click on "Refresh" on the Tool Bar. If that doesn't fix it, go into "My Computer" on your desktop, and
clear out all the old Temporary internet files including the cookies. That should fix it and your info should appear on the
screen. Thanks, Webmaster
I just wanted to thank you for putting so much time, heart, and energy into
making such a great website. I love going there and seeing what's new. It brings back so many memories.
You have also made it possible for me to find a couple of long lost friends who I am now in touch with regularly. I really
got a kick out of the 50ish article. Believe it or not, I still have all of my 45s and my Crosby, Stills, and Nash LPs!!
Thank you again for all of your hard work. I really appreciate it!!! Gail
Mergendahl Marzak '69
I think you've done a great job
with the website and I appreciate that someone took the time to do it! I really like the new feature of being able to check
by year of graduation. Now ... if more people would only sign up (of course, that one is out of your control). Thanks again
for all your hard work on this. Have a great day. Diane
Dorsey Racine '70
I just met and talked with someone
that lives here in St Louis that found me from the site. Her name is Donna B. Lograsso. Thanks for your hard work in bringing
old friends together. Take care, John McKenzie '71
Q: E-mailing from a bus in Honolulu.
Sorry, had to say that. What ideas do you have for us to assist us with our 30th coming up in November?- like utilizing the
Penn Hills site etc. Any help or suggestions is appreciated. Greg Hammill '72
A. Greg, please use the page "Penn Hills Bulletin Board" to post and announce anything you would like about your reunion. Also, if
you would like, I can link our page to your reunion web page if you have created one. Let me know what I can do for you and
Candy! Thanks, Webmaster
Q: Hey , I signed the the guestbook a few weeks
ago but now I am changing my E-mail address... Is there anything I can do to just change the address on my current page? Or
do I just have to make another one on here? Thanks, Tom Baker '73
A: Tom all you have to do
is e-mail us at pennhillspa@yahoo.com with your new address and we will gladly change it for you. Thanks, Webmaster
Thank you so much for the Easter E-card. That was so thoughtful.
I hope you had a real nice Easter too. Gail Mergendahl Marzak '69
Q: I wanted to edit my biography page but could not figure how to
do so. How do I do that? Kathleen Hughes Petrosky '83
A: Kathleen, good question, but very easy to accomplish. Simply
e-mail us at pennhillspa@yahoo.com with any changes, and/or additions, and we will gladly place them for you. Webmaster
Cool site! Great job! Will have
to dig out some of my old stuff and contribute as well. Thanks for getting something like this started. I never
knew how great a place Penn Hills was until I left and lived elsewhere and realized that other places weren't like it.
Your site brings back a lot of great memories. Chuck McKelvey '70
So
far I must be the only person to check in from the class of 1960. By the way, "Stinky Davis" was the track coach. He earned this nickname because of his smell of cigar
smoke. Scott Millard '60
Yes Scott we remember Mr. "Stinky"
Davis. But we thought he smoked a pipe.... memory goes first you know. Please tell all of your 1960 classmates about
this site. Our best and ONLY advertising is word of mouth, so please please please talk it up!!!!! Thanks ! Webmaster
Hello all! Thanks for starting this site. I still have fond memories of Penn Hills High School. PHHS has always had
the smartest-best looking girls, toughest guys, exceptional teachers and unrivaled sports teams. Peter Buitenhek '70
I'm really excited about this website; you've done a great job. Dorth Clarke
